Abstract: An introductory essay to the Collected Poems of Katherine Mansfield. This is the first stand-alone collected edition of her poetry ever to be published. It brings together all known verse written by Mansfield, from a schoolgirl’s first playful experiments in verse in 1903, through to the poignant ‘Wounded Bird’, written only months before she died from tuberculosis at the age of just thirty-four.
