Abstract: Three biographers, who have written books on diverse literary figures, from Oscar Wilde, Christopher Isherwood and E.M. Forster to J.R. Ackerley, Katherine Mansfield and Ronald Firbank, talk about how to write a literary life... How do you uncover new archives? How to deal with the literary estate, or surviving relatives, or copyright issues? And how to sell your biography – and promote it. This talk focuses on the literature of the period 1890-1945, and will be of particular interest to students of Victorian and Modernist Literature.
