Abstract: This publication addresses the question: what sort of research can and should inform such policy? It is a response by a group of educational philosophers to an invitation from the Teaching and Learning Research Programme (TLRP) to contribute work from theory of knowledge to a debate about what is or what should be the relationship between educational policy and educational research.
