Abstract: | The concepts of sustainability have, for some decades now, increasingly been employed to mitigate key socio-economic and environmental challenges globally. As one of the largest organisations in the world, the National Health Service can play a significant role in the UK achieving these concepts. This paper explores some of the issues associated with the organisation embedding these concepts, including the need to align sustainability with another impending reorganisation, and changes to healthcare delivery, as well as limitations in staff engagement. It concludes by suggesting strategies to overcome these challenges |
