Abstract:	SCOPE brings together the work of 15 artists who make up the ‘Photographic Practices’ research group at CCW (Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges, London). The artists have in common a deep interest in how photography might be used to generate meaning. Their practices represent a broad cross-section of approaches to the use of lens-based media, which include video, film, installation, performance, ‘hands-on’ photographic processes and digital manipulation as well as still photography. The work in this exhibition challenges the viewer to consider the contemporary condition of photography – to contemplate where the medium has come from and how it may evolve in the future. None of the work takes the camera for granted. Instead, the varied and exciting work in the exhibition demands that photographic means, methods and conceptual processes play a central role in the way that images might articulate ideas
