Abstract:	A day seminar held at the University of Northampton on Thursday 30th October 2014, organised jointly by the University of Northampton and the University of Hertfordshire, provided twenty-one participants with the opportunity to discuss “An examination of the Coalition’s policy for ‘five-year land supplies’”. The focus of this seminar was the Coalition government’s policy to require local planning authorities to demonstrate the availability of local building land on a rolling for ‘five-year’ basis : input to the seminar was supplied by a mix of practitioners and academics from the built environment and development sectors through a series of twenty-minute presentations, followed by questions and discussion.
