Abstract: This paper will address the theme of 'Exploring Behaviours that Challenge' through a discussion of the support that is provided to students who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties in Primary Schools in the United Kingdom. This support is always coordinated by a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) - whose role my research is about. The primary focus of my presentation will be the data I have gathered as regards the impact of the SENCO role, and by default, the support that is provided in English Primary Schools to children whose behaviours challenge teaching professionals and those associated with academic behavioural support.
