Abstract: BBC Radio Northampton wanted a linguistics expert to discuss modern use of swear words, how they are now being used in emotional or passionate situations. They were particularly focusing on the recent news coverage of Kim Sears, allegedly swearing during Andy Murray’s Australian Open match.
