Abstract:
Behaviour is a key feature in school leadership. Yet it is a theme which is often only peripherally dealt with in professional development and especially in initial teacher education.
This presentation examines the characteristics of headteachers who have been successful in promoting positive behaviour in their schools. It moves on to consider the wider implications for the training of new teachers and the role that such 'successful' leaders can play within this process.
