Attended by the great and the good from the research community here at Northampton, as well as some of our friends from the UK repository community, the NECTAR launch party was a chance for everyone to find out more about the repository and how it could benefit both researchers and The University of Northampton.
Mrs Ann Tate, Vice Chancellor, demonstrated her support for NECTAR by officially opening the event and sharing her vision of the repository's future.
Mr Andrew McGregor from the JISC then painted the bigger picture, setting NECTAR against the background of the £14m JISC Repositories and Preservation Programme.
We are very grateful to the JISC for sponsoring the party, to the Knowledge Exchange for their contribution to the excellent food, and to the research supervisors for allowing us to gatecrash their Update Day.
