Abstract: Smoking is understood to be the primary cause of preventable morbidity and premature death in the UK. Annual cost of tobacco use to UK ~ £13.74 billion UK Tobacco Control Strategy is based on six strands: Stopping the promotion of tobacco; Making tobacco less affordable; Effective regulation of tobacco products; Helping tobacco users to quit; Reducing exposure to second hand smoke; Effective communications of tobacco control.
