Abstract: | This invited presentation discusses, in a UK and EU context, the potenial implications of the UK Governments Open Public Services policy and the marketisation of public (social) services. It questions the efficacy of the policy approach for a consumerised social services market that is predicated on the benchmark standard of the 'circumspect and well informed consumer': rather than that of the 'vulnerable consumer'. |
