Abstract: The UK landfill tax was introduced to drive reduction of solid waste to landfill. It is fiscally neutral for companies. This green tax has aleady had an impact on planning for future waste options. Waste minimisation and reycling are being seen as cost effective options to paying the landfill tax by local authorities and companies.
