Abstract: Set in the context of Comparative Criminology, the paper looks at issues related to the Causes and types of crime and the responses to crime in the Caribbean. The comparison of crime data from two Caribbean countries (Montserrat and St Vincent) are used as specific examples to demonstrate the issues and the difficulties of methodology when comparing crime in different sovereign states
