Abstract:
This note is part of a continuing programme of action following the recommendations of the 2006 UN Study on Violence against Children.
It results from a review of a sample of 13 country programmes, identified, in part, from the 2010 Country Office Annual Reports, coupled with reviews of a sample of 30 other programmes delivered by major national and international organisations, and an examination of relevant current research and literature. The materials are representative of a wide range of resources and actions to reduce violence, abuse and neglect in early childhood in diverse regions; collectively they exemplify the characteristics of interventions which are likely to form the basis of good practice and which are summarised in this note.
