Abstract:
The world of the body, of making and of creativity; of images, words and movement is a territory within which I inhabit and embody my research imperative. This paper is a sort of musing on the possibilities and pitfalls of Authentic Movement and Focusing as both therapeutic approaches and methodological tools for practice-as research in performance. This is a process that works with a both/and – subject – my body and object - the body I have, as well as body/mind – here my preference will be for a pre-Cartesian approach – perhaps an alchemical approach of psyche/soma when self is the source of creative inspiration
