Abstract:
LinkedIn is the most commonly used professional social networking tool with 44+ million users in the UK in January 2025 (Statista, 2024). However, many undergraduates do not have a profile (Lexis et al., 2023). This project extends previous research by Sharma and Tucker (2024) to explore undergraduate students’ engagement with LinkedIn. The poster presents findings from an online survey with UON students. It is suggested that students’ engagement with LinkedIn would be enhanced through dedicating class time to the setting up and updating of LinkedIn profiles, creating LinkedIn groups to facilitate networking between current students and alumni, and offering additional timetabled support at the end of the academic year to support students in their use of LinkedIn.
