  Abstract:
Zoë will encourage discussion about dreams, jokes and slips of the tongue as rich sources for poetry. Drawing on psychoanalytic theorists such as Freud and Jung, the workshop will consider how a poet can tap into feelings from the unconscious. The task of the workshop will be to remove the poem from any ‘personal’ context by employing strategies such as the symbolism of dreams or the chain of associations at work in jokes and slips of the tongue. This multimedia workshop will use film clips and written examples to inspire participants
