Abstract:
The survey was commissioned to inform national considerations in respect of Special Constables carrying Taser. The purpose of the survey was to develop greater insight at a national level into the perspectives of Special Constables across forces on the issue of Specials being trained and equipped with Taser, and to facilitate all Specials to have a ‘voice’ feeding into the national considerations. A short online survey was disseminated via forces between February and April 2019. The survey was designed and responses analysed free-of-charge by the Institute for Public Safety, Crime and Justice, University of Northampton.
