Abstract: This article will examine the most recent definitions for gastro-oesophageal reflux (GOR) and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). It will identify common symptoms seen in infants and explore potential investigations that may be required. There are a variety of treatment options available, and the health visitor has a significant role in taking appropriate history, referring parents to fellow health professionals and providing support for families.
