Abstract:

The project aim and the objectives below were met in full. The research aimed to offer an argument in regard to the direction of travel being taken to address child poverty via early childhood education and care (ECEC) across England in the context of global neoliberalism the ‘grand narrative of our time’. The underpinning neoliberal logic is captured by Moss (2014; 2)–‘find, invest in and apply the correct human technologies –aka ‘quality’–during early childhood and you will get high returns on investment including improved education, employment and earnings and reduced social problems’.
