Abstract: A study of spatial pattern of housing growth in the UK based on a case study of Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. The study focuses in particular on the power of volume house builders and landowners to determine the form and rate of growth in spite of the efforts of national and local policy makers to generate "sustainable" growth.
