Abstract:
This paper discusses the biographical origins which led to the writing of the short story 'An Indiscreet Journey' (1915) by Katherine Mansfield. It also analyses the story itself, with Mansfield's astonishing first hand description of a soldier suffering the effects of gas poisoning.
