Abstract:
On Wednesday 22nd January, I introduced the Errol Flynn Filmhouse's screening of Margaretha Von Trotta's biopic of Hannah Arendt to approximately 26 members of the public. My talk discussed the process of making the film and current historical debates on the significance of Arendt's response to the the Eichmann Trial. I concluded by pointing to the renaissance that Arendt is enjoying across the Arts and Humanities, in particular in relation to her analysis of the links between colonialism and totalitarianism in 'The Origins of Totalitarianism'.
