APRIL
There’s a push of dusky red towards
a fall of April snow along each bough –
with a blush of whispered unwrapping
the flower-mouths find their voices,
and call on every breeze to bring
the bees who snuff and fumble,
until the orchard throbs and every bee
is making an apple from a kiss.
