Abstract:
The 'extant series' is a body of practice-led research into the performance and pedagogy of real-time composition. 'Extant - Hidden Love Song' is an exploration of formal compositional techniques such as hocketing, inversions, and rolling accumulations. Particular attention was paid to the teaching and embodied learning of the methods to facilitate future (improvised) explorations
