The 43 Uses of Drawing

Staff, C. and Cureton, P. (2011) The 43 Uses of Drawing. Exhibit at: The 43 Uses of Drawing. Rugby Art Gallery and Museum, Rugby, Warwickshire, 06 September - 30 October 2011. [Exhibition curators]

Item Type: Show/Exhibition
Abstract: The 43 Uses of Drawing explored the practice of drawing beyond the paper surface, via the work of 43 practitioners working in a number of different areas. The aim of the exhibition was to ignite debate and discussion by mapping the different practices and uses of drawing across disciplines and beyond the boundaries of fine art. The exhibition showcased drawing through the work of both artists and non-artists who use drawing in their professions. It included drawings from graffiti artists, children’s illustrators, political cartoonists, architects, animators, landscape architects, set designers, tattoo artists, digital renderers and performance artists, along with fine artists.
