Abstract:
This session will examine the potential functions and value of using performance descriptions developed in the UK (P scales).
Participants will have an opportunity to become more familiar with the P scales and their range. The session will highlight the issues of identifying both linear (hierarchical) and lateral progress, using the P scales, as one part of the assessment process with an opportunity to use the P scales to make judgements on samples of pupil evidence. The importance of moderation will be considered and some principles for practice will be suggested
