Abstract: This paper discusses the representation of Neutral Angels (called the walserands) in the twelfth-century Middle Dutch version of the Voyage of Brendan. It considers how the legend has been changed from the tenth-century Latin Navigatio sancti Brendani abbatis, it also examines some of the sources and Biblical parallels and suggests a possible foe for the walserands’ unnamed adversaries
